This Privacy Policy describes how the Ala-Too University mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) processes information of its users (“you”, “student”). The App is provided to students of Ala-Too International University as a tool to access their academic information.
2. Information we collect
The App may process the following categories of data:
- Account data: student ID, full name, faculty, program, group, year of study, enrollment dates.
- Contact data: corporate email, phone number, address — only as displayed in your university profile.
- Academic data: grades, attendance, schedule, GPA, finance/contract status.
- App preferences: selected language, theme and locally stored profile photo.
- Authentication state: a flag indicating that you are signed in (stored locally on the device).
We do not collect advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, microphone, SMS or call data.
3. How data is used
- To display your personal academic information inside the App.
- To allow you to sign in and stay signed in between launches.
- To present your student ID (barcode/QR) for use at the university.
- To remember your selected language and profile photo on this device.
4. Where data is stored
Personal data displayed in the App is provided by the official information system of Ala-Too International University. Local preferences (language, profile photo, sign-in state) are stored only on your device using the operating system's secure storage (SharedPreferences on Android / UserDefaults on iOS).
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared only with the university itself (as the data controller) and only as required to operate the App.
6. Data retention
Local data on your device is kept until you sign out or delete the App. Academic data managed by the university follows the university's own retention rules.
7. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Sign out of the App, which removes your authentication state from this device.
- Remove your locally stored profile photo from the Profile screen.
- Uninstall the App, which removes all locally stored data.
- Request deletion of your personal data — see Data Deletion.
8. Children
The App is intended for university students aged 16 and above. It is not directed to children under 13.
9. Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for any network communication and rely on the operating system's sandbox to isolate locally stored data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at this URL.
